It is starting to get toasty and that means a lot of panting for our furry friends☀️

⚠️It is incredibly important to remember that even though it may seem illogical for such a long coat to keep them cool, their coats act as insulation in both cold and hot weather.

There are layers of fur in their coats and each layer serves a purpose. The cool air or warm air gets trapped in between these layers and it helps them regulate their temperature appropriately.

Shaving a double coated dog for weather reasons is counterproductive, it can cause them to get even hotter and / or sunburned.

All that being said, please do keep your berners and doable coated dogs in a nice cool area, provide lots of shade, water and a source of ventilation such a fans or AC.
