Our breeding family
Kardia
Kardia (car-dee-ah) means “heart” in Greek, and it is also the root of the word “cardio.” She is our very first Berner and a life-long dream, and as her name implies, she is in every way the love of our lives.
Words always fall short, but we are biased. Wicked smart, goofy, loyal, sweet with children and wary of strangers, yet true to her breed, never aggressive. She has more than 2,000 hours of training, is trained in cart drafting, and knows what you want before you say anything. Her bloodline comes with a clean bill of health from OFA (orthopedic and cardiac) clearances. Her pedigree includes Van’t Stokerybos, Kronblommas (two of the most prestigious Berner lines in the world) and the Meigas line from Spain.
Vivaldi
Vivaldi (Vivi) journeyed all the way from the renowned kennel Bern Haus on Oka to join our growing family. His pedigree is a dream, with a long history of health clearances and countless championships from his dad through his grandparents and great-grandparents.
At home he is known as Cat-Dog. He rubs himself against the couch, zig-zags through human legs, bounces like a silly goat, and follows the philosophy “Play hard, sleep hard.” His favorite TV show is River Monsters. He is smart, attuned to his pack, loving, patient and funny, and he loves to cuddle and nap in the sun. A giant puppy at heart.
Yunny
In-Yun (pronounced In-Yeon) means “fate” or “destiny,” the inevitable encounter with certain things in life. Yunny, for short, journeyed all the way from Bern Haus on Oka to join our family. Her pedigree is a dream, with a long history of health clearances and countless championships.
She loves to jump around. We believe she may be part goat and part rabbit, with some Bernese in there. Incredibly affectionate, she loves staying close to the pack, and she is submissive and goofy. There is not a single cell of malice in her beautiful soul.
Darwin
Darwin joined our family in December 2025. We lovingly raised her and her siblings in our home. After histiocytic sarcoma testing on her and her sisters, she had the best markers to bring our program toward a healthier breed standard.
Inquisitive and smart, a little Tasmanian devil with the energy of a pink rabbit, but loving and eager to please. We look forward to seeing how she develops.
Retired, and loved
Momo
Momo can be defined in four words: sharp, intelligent, mischievous, loving. She has a very balanced, square frame with a block head, is closer to the ground, and is proficient in agility and quick coordination.
Her independence and curiosity can sometimes challenge commands, yet she has been excellent at training since she was a young pup. There is little she cannot learn. Born to be a leader, but happy to follow her mom’s lead. Her lineage includes multi-championship lines from Poland, Spain and Belgium. Momo now lives by the Hudson River with a friend of ours.
Louis
Louis was named after one of our favorite musicians, Louis Armstrong. He cannot play the trumpet, but Louis, or Looster Bear as we call him, is the happiest, giant goofball. Sweet, loyal and full of life, like a Bernese in a china shop.
The Stokerybos line is one of the best Bernese breeders in the world, with over 60 championships and over 150 titles. It is a dream come true to have carried this line in our program. Our dear Looster Bear is now retired and lives in New Jersey with friends of ours.
